On 15 September 2025 in Vientiane Capital, Assurances General Laos (AGL) held an official CEO Handover and Retirement Ceremony at the Amari Hotel. The event marked the retirement of Mr. Guy APOVY, former CEO of AGL, and honored his outstanding contributions and long-standing leadership and announced the appointment of Dr. Sengaloun INMYXAI has been appointed Acting CEO by Minister of Finance, as representative of the sole shareholder, with a formal resolution by the Board of Directors in the next step. This meaningful event brought together colleagues, agents, partners, and stakeholders to celebrate his dedication and reflect on the legacy he has built for the company and the Lao insurance industry.
Mr. APOVY has served as CEO since July 2006, leading the company with dedication, integrity, and vision for more than 19 years. Throughout this time, his leadership has been instrumental in shaping AGL’s strategic direction, strengthening the Lao insurance industry, and building long-standing, trusted partnerships across all sectors.
Under his guidance, AGL has continuously advanced as the market leader in Lao PDR, driving innovation, expanding a diverse range of insurance products to meet customer needs, and promoting a culture of trust, professionalism, and care. His contributions have not only ensured sustainable growth for our employees, agents, and business partners, but have also reinforced AGL’s role as a trusted partner for clients nationwide.
AGL expresses its deepest gratitude to Mr. Guy APOVY for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment, which have enabled AGL to remain the number one insurance company in Lao PDR for nearly two decades. His achievements will continue to serve as a guiding path for AGL’s growth and success in sustainability. Following his retirement, the Board of Directors and Mr. Guy APOVY are jointly discussing a suitable arrangement for him to continue supporting AGL in a consultancy role, so that the company may still benefit from his guidance and expertise in a different capacity.
To ensure the continued smooth operation of AGL without interruption, Dr. Sengaloun INMYXAI has been officially appointed Acting CEO by the Minister of Finance Notice No. 2855/MoF dated 5 September 2025. The appointment will be subsequently endorsed by the Board of Directors in its next resolution. This guarantees the seamless continuity of all business operations and strategies, and our commitments will continue without disruption, ensuring clients and partners receive the best-in-class insurance service and reliability they have always trusted from AGL.
